Pickering fans under the age of 16 will be admitted to league games for free with a paying adult.
This measure has been in place since the start of the season but it is being reiterated here.
To sum up: Under 16s get free entry to league games when accompanied by a paying adult.

Didn't realize that.... I mentioned it in the other thread.
So, all you young-uns, what are you waiting for?

Just wondered how much the club publicises this fact within the Junior Section.
Last Saturday there were only about 6 Pickering Juniors at most at the game, plus another four Juniors that play for Old Malton.
However all of these OM Juniors have been going regually for the past 4 seasons at least, so I cannot see any new impact from this.
Pikes Juniors used to get free season tickets anyway as part of their membership.
I think some one has to go into the 4 local schools, ( Lady Lumleys, Malton, Norton, Ryedale) and really push this in order to get the parents to go.
This whole thing is nothing new, in fact it was more successful when Steve Brown started it years ago.

One idea I had was that go we go into schools, get loads of kids to come to the game and then as an English project they can write match reports and we'd feature the best ones on the website and then give them like a cheap prize or something.
Not sure if it would work but at least its an idea I suppose.

I like the match report idea. Another idea would be to involve the children in some kind of half time entertainment. Maybe an inter-school penalty shoot out.

GTFC have the youth trainings sessions on the field before the game and at half time. Pen Comps are also a good idea, but bare in mind how many people are actually left outside at half time. Usually everyone just heads into the Rec Club don't they.

Well if we had to direct any sort of complaint at Pickering Town CFC getting the information clearly across would be one of them!
